Our
first stop is at Batubulan where you will experience a
taste of Balinese culture. Here, the Barong Dance, a story
of the fight between good and evil is performed. We then
travel to Taman Ayun, the Royal Temple in Mengwi. This
17th century temple was built by one of the last priest
to migrate from Java and is surrounded by a water moat.
Playful monkeys will be your hosts at your next stop,
Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest. Finally, visit Tanah Lot (land
surrounded by water). If it is low tide, you will be allowed
to stroll out to the bottom of the island for a closer
look.

Enroute,
a stop will be made at the Royal Temple Taman Ayun at
Mengwi. Later stop at Gitgit Waterfall and enjoy a scenic,
15 minute walk to the falls. Afterwards, you will arrive
in Singaraja, the former capital of Bali. At Lovina Beach,
take advantage of an ideal opportunity to have lunch followed
by a trip to Banjar, to see the hot springs and the Bali's
only Buddhist Temple. We then return to Denpasar via Pupuan

5. Kintamani Tour (US$

In
the morning, visit a small temple near the city of Gianyar
called Durga Kutri Temple. Visit Panglipuran, a village
that even today, maintains the old traditional Balinese
culture. The active Mt Batur at Kintamani is your next
stop where you will view the slopes of the active crater
as well as the scenic Lake Batur. A delicious buffet lunch
will be served a t a local restaurant. As you return to
your hotel, a visit will be made at Gunung Kawi, a 13th
century temple that has been hand-carved semicircularly
into a stone wall. Visit a gallery and see the woodcarvers
creating works of art from timber at the village of Mas.

6. Kecak Dance and Denpasar Night Market

an evening's performance of the Kecak & Fire Dance
at Batubulan. Marvel at the costumes and dexterity of
the dancers.

and painter, walter Spies. Before you conclude your evening,

local cuisine, do a little shopping and then relax for

7. East Bali Tour (US$

Gianyar visit a weaving factory and learn how sarongs
and other textiles are manufactured. A brief visit will
then be made at Kehen Temple in Bangli. Enjoy the scenic
drive to the east Bali coastline via Rendang and Selat,
arriving at the Water Palace of Tirta Gangga.
A lunch stop will be made at Puri Bagus
Hotel, Candi Dasa. After lunch, visit one of the original
Balinese villages at Tenganan, where the old traditions
are still the way of life. Goa Lawah temple and Bat Caves
will be your final stop before you return to the hotel.

8. Besakih Mother Temple Tour (US$

The
old capital of Klungkung is your first stop, visiting
the ancient Courts of Justice at Kerta Gosa. A visit will
be made to a village school at Sidemen before arriving
at Besakih. This temple, located on the slopes of Mt Agung
is the largest and holiest temple in Bali. It is home
to the Gods. A buffet lunch will be served at a local
restaurant. After lunch, a stop will be made at Tihingan
village where gongs and other musical instruments are
manufactured. The final stop on this tour is at Pura Dalem
Temple at Sidan.

9. Around Ubud (US$

This
tour begins with a morning walk around the artists village
Ubud. You may explore the different art galleries, the
traditional market and maybe the small temple and monkey
sanctuary, stops will be made at Tegalalang and Sebatu
Water Temple. The Elephant Cave at Goa Gajah is the next
stop, finally visiting the Silver & Gold galleries
at Celuk before completing the tour.

The prices for all half and full day tours
are based on a minimum of four (4) persons participating.
A small surcharge will be applicable should there be less
than four participants.
Dress regulations at some temples ask that
men and womenwear trousers and long skirts respectively.
A sarong may also be used. In some cases, temples ask
that a sash be worn around the waist.

10. Kintamani - Mother Temple Combination

Visit
Celuk and Mas as well as the artists village of Ubud enroute
to Kintamani. From the lookout, soak in the breathtaking
views of Mt Batur and her crater lake. A buffet lunch
will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, a scenic
drive past rice fields, bridge and gullies will be enjoyed
enroute to Besakih Mother Temple, home of the Balinese
Gods. On the way back, a brief visit will be made at the
Kerta Gosa courd house at Klungkung.

11. Trunyan Village (US$
20) -

Visit
celuk and Mas enroute to Kintamani, from the lookout,
view the active volcano and then take a drive lakeside
through the lava plains. A small motor boat will take
you across Lake Batur to Trunyan, an original Balinese
village, then to the cemetery. The word trunyan means
"tree with no odour". It is agents from this
tree that are used to treat their dead who, are wrapped
and left to the open elements allowing decompositions
without odour. The boat ride continues to the hot springs,
heated from the activity of Mt. Batur. Lunch will be taken
at a local restaurant before returning via Sebatu and
Gunung Kawi.
