Once upon a time there was an island kissed
by the sun, with a cloak of fine beaches and surrounded
by pristine azure waters thriving with an abundance of
stunning marine life. No motorbikes or cars were permitted
on this island to disturb its content tranquility. Lamps
in the night were scarce and limitless moonlight reached
down to greet the island and embrace it in a star-filled
sky.
Visitors
to the island were friendly and open; travellers of the
world, divers and explorers of this archipelago who didn't
mind some minor inconveniences in exchange for easy, rustic
tropical charm.
Only a fairytale ?
Not at all. It exists, but as a secret only
for those who dare to know and who are willing to leave
it unchanged. If you are of like mind, you are most welcome
to enjoy the tropical gifts on relaxation, of snorkeling
and scuba diving in rich underwater gardens with excellent
equipment and western dive teachers, of fishing in the
early hours of the night, of seeing the island's 8 kilometer
circumference from the back of a Cidomo, the traditional
Lombok horse cart, from which you can see the silhouettes
of the might volcanoes Mount Agung in Bali and Mount Rinjani
in Lombok.
After a day in the sun, we invite you to
join us for some true islands delights such as grilled
fresh fish with delicious sauces, mouthwatering Asian
specialties followed by a wide range of tropical ice creams
served in their natural fruit shells. After dinner, entertainment
includes "the Party", a rotating nightly in
one of the many favourite haunts on the beach, where you
can dance the night away.

The
Hotel Vila Ombak (ombak means waves), the first hotel
on this magical island, is a place that balances the comfort
of first class accommodation with the natural beauty that
surrounds. Hotel Vila Ombak features the natural grass
roof building style of Lombok, and its neighboring islands,
to blend harmoniously with the island's landscape.
The "Lumbung"-huts, their romantic

The Bungalow rooms are half houses that
have large sleeping and living areas, a terrace facing
the gardens and a spacious semi-open bathroom. The shape
of the Bungalow is derived from Lombok-style houses.
